INFORMATION AS REQUIRED UNDER SECTION 217(1)(e) READ WITH

I. CONSERVATION OF ENERGY :

(a) Energy conservation measures taken :
 
Installed high efficiency pumps for filtering of water and equipment to recover heat from the blow down. Use of condensate for process heating (Rayon & TP Sections). Installed Fuzzy Logic Expert System for kiln, Raw Mill and coal mill section of Unit-3. Modified HR separator in Raw Mill section of Unit-3. Addition of gypsum to the polycom in Unit-3, derating of motors were running at lower loads and increase in production of PPC(Vasavadatta Cement Section). Installed high efficiency motors and Clinker Weigh Feeders in Cement Mills 1 & 2, increased production of Blended Cement. Modified Chamber length of Raw Mills 1 & 2 and provided harmonic filters for power distribution system(Kesoram Cement Section). Installed scroll package AC pump with auto switchover VFD, TG supply pumps in cooling towers and additional VFD in boiler ID fan. Increased generation by increasing 2nd extraction in turbine(Tyre Section). Installed energy efficient lights and motors with variable frequency drives in Brine Feeding System, switched over to TOD meter in Grid Supply and modified capacitor bank (Hindusthan Heavy Chemicals Section).

(b) Additional investment proposals, if any, being implemented for reduction of consumption of energy :

Installation of Superheater in Sulphuric Acid Plant and drying of sulphate by steam (Rayon and TP Sections).

Additional investment of Rs.2500 lacs is planned for upgradation of Blending Silos, enhancement of kiln-2 production by 200 TPD by changing top cyclones, MFC, TA duct and pre-heater fan, SPRS system and VVVF drives for kiln-2 production. Installation of vertical roller pre-grinder for Cement Mill-3, VVVF drives for cement mill 1&2 LNV separator and Mill Vent DC Fan and weigh feeders for Raw Mill-3 (Kesoram Cement Section). Installation of Scroll package AC and replacement of lower efficiency fan by higher efficiency pumps and diesel firing system by gas firing system in Dip unit and to harvest rain water (Tyre Section).

(c) Impact of measures at (a) & (b) above for reduction of energy consumption and consequent impact on the cost of production of goods :

Reduction in electricity and diesel oil consumed per unit of production was witnessed in general having favourable impact on the cost of production.

(d)Total energy consumption and energy consumption per unit of production as per Form "A" of the Annexure in respect of industries specified in the Schedule thereto.
